When we set out to create an online shopping portal for our customers, we wrestled with several important shipping-related issues. The key issue is that almost all online shopping sites are limited in their shipping options due to a lack of interface capabilities with commercial freight carriers. Unfortunately, ours is no exception. Several of our items (sign posts, for example) exceed maximum length for standard parcel shipment. Large distributor quantity real estate sign frame orders typically exceed weight restrictions. Add to that commercial freight surcharges for delivery to residential addresses and you begin to envision the nightmare that such a wide scope of products and clientele brings into the e-commerce shipping arena. Fortunately, we have an answer!
We set up the Metalcraft online store to handle typical parcel shipments via UPS shipping. Our negotiated rates with UPS are lower than with other parcel services and we gladly pass those savings on to you, our customer. Because UPS delivers to both residential and commercial customers, we avoid many residential delivery surcharges that some freight carriers typically charge. Our discount rate also excludes assessment of pick-up charges- another savings we pass on to you. Our online store is set up to allow online purchase of all items that will ship via UPS. When an item or group of items is too large or heavy for the online store to provide a shipping estimate, you will simply be asked to contact us to have our staff quote you the most economical shipping method that fits your needs.
Payment is due prior to shipment. For online credit card orders, payment is made when the order processes through checkout. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Customers with Metalcraft accounts may choose to be billed in accordance with their account agreement. Our online store also accepts PayPal as a secondary form of payment.
Large custom product design orders may require a 50% deposit, which is due upon placing the custom order. The balance is due prior to item shipment. Please check with your customer representative.
The Lowest Freight Weight for our Customers
Metalcraft’s team of experts has a long track record of success in obtaining the lowest freight rates for our customers. If we can save you money, we definitely will. If we determine that your order’s UPS packaging can be consolidated to save you money, we will take it upon ourselves to do so and we will refund any savings to your credit card. Why? Size Information for Orders:
All dimensions in our catalog and website are given in a height by width ratio. Please take this into account when placing orders. Product descriptions will always list the height first, followed by the width, if not indicated.
The majority of our stock products ship within 1-3 days. Large orders or made-to-order items may take up to 5 days. In the unlikely event that an order will require more than 5 days to manufacture, we will immediately contact you with a delivery estimate and will determine whether you wish for us to proceed with your order.
Normally, products will be shipped via UPS or our preferred commercial package carrier, unless otherwise specified or requested by the customer.
Metalcraft’s online store provides an estimate of UPS shipping costs based upon the typical weights and dimensions of products in your shopping cart. Orders with numerous items may exceed dimension and weight ratios suitable for single package shipments and may require multiple packages. Packaging materials, such as boxes and padding, as well as handling labor are inclusive.
If shipping costs for your shipment exceed the estimated total from your shopping cart order, we will contact you. If costs charged to you are found to be excessive, we will contact you to refund the difference.
Large and Overweight Items:
Some items must be shipped via a commercial freight carrier (truck line) and we will need to provide a custom shipping quote for those shipments. We’ve disabled the site’s “BUY” buttons for these problematic items to prevent confusion, but we’ve left pricing available so you can research your orders. Please contact us via email or call us at 1-888-609-3779 to place any orders that contain these large or overweight items. Feel free to order your small components separately, for UPS shipping, however, we might be able to save you money by consolidating all of your items into one freight shipment.
Expedited shipping is not available online at this time. Please call us to place an order with expedited shipping. Next day orders must be received by 11:30 am Eastern Time. Deliveries are made Monday – Friday (for example, a next day rush order placed on Friday will be delivered the following Monday).
Shipping is FOB Ocala, Florida (Incoterm: FCA Ocala, Florida)
Drop shipment of un-shipped orders is available. Call us at (888) 609-3779 to arrange drop-shipping. A $5 fee will be assessed to orders which are drop-shipped to your customer (Exception: The drop-ship fee for free-standing vinyl racks is $7.50). This is a per-customer fee. Drop-shipments to multiple customers will incur multiple drop-ship fees.
Sign industry customers with their own UPS shipping accounts may choose to use their account for shipping. Simply call us at (888) 609-3779 to place your order.
Shipping estimates do not include day of pickup. (Example: a 3-day transit for an order picked up on Monday would arrive on Thursday)
Our online sales portal incorporates all packing and handling charges in the pricing of each order shipped via UPS. Oversized items and orders which ship commercially, or which ship using a customer's own shipping accounts must be quoted separately, by telephone or e-mail. Nominal packing fees may be added to your special shipment’s quote to compensate for the extra expense of pallets, banding, shrink wrapping, etc.
Metalcraft utilizes recycled packing materials and pallets to significantly reduce our customers' packing costs and to reduce environmental impact.
Orders for multiple products are typically consolidated to reduce customers' costs. Please indicate if you require items to be packed and shipped separately
Acceptance of Product:
It is the customer's responsibility to inspect all products upon receipt. All shortages or discrepancies must be documented and reported to Metalcraft Industries within 7 days of delivery.
Any damage must be reported to the freight company at time of delivery.
All damages must be noted on the shipment's delivery receipt at time of delivery and Metalcraft Industries, Inc. must be contacted with 24 hours after receipt of a damaged shipment at (888) 609-3779 or (352) 680-3555. Failure to note damages may result in the inability to file a freight claim.
Metalcraft Industries is not responsible for damages that may occur during transit. If damage is discovered, retain the original packaging. Additionally, a digital photograph should be taken to facilitate your claim to the shipping company.
Special Notes Concerning Shipping, Via Customers' Own Shipping Accounts
Shipping via your shipping account is possible for e-mailed and telephone orders. This service is not supported in the online store.
Please be aware that Metalcraft can only enter pick-up data for UPS accounts. For shipments with FedEx, DHL or other companies, using your company shipping account, you will need to coordinate and schedule pick-up of the items from our location with the shipper. Please contact our sales team to determine the date that your order will be available for shipping.
Metalcraft Industries assumes no liability for damage, delay or loss of product orders that are shipped on a customer's company-owned shipping account. We highly recommend considering carrier insurance for high value orders shipped via your company's own shipping account.
Orders placed through the online store that request the customer to contact us for shipping rates may be sent out, using a customer's own shipping account. Please note that you will be invoiced separately for packaging and handling charges, prior to shipment of the order. These nominal charges are normally incorporated into the online store's shipping rates and are not collected in advance when a customer places a "call for quote" shipping order through the storefront's software.
NEW! Local Area Delivery
Customers located near our central Florida manufacturing plant may wish to contact us to see if their area is served by our local delivery route. This is a great cost savings option- especially with large and bulky items. At present, we deliver in Florida to the Ocala, Orlando, Tampa, Gainesville and Jacksonville metropolitan areas on a bi-weekly basis (every 2 weeks). A small fee to offset fuel and our driver's labor is charged, however, this is typically much cheaper than standard shipping costs, using LTL and UPS shipping for large orders or oversized products. Special Product Information Concerning aluminum Sign Blanks
Metalcraft aluminum sign blanks are manufactured to meet or exceed sign industry specifications. Your sign blank may have a protective coating of film applied, which should be removed, prior to application of your graphics.
Mill finish sign blanks are production mill quality and are intended to serve as a substrate onto which a paint or vinyl coating may be applied. Minor handling marks and/or scratches may be be observed. Mill finish sign blanks are not equivalent to stainless steel, brushed aluminum or polished aluminum substrates.
